I must express my pride in the American People. One hundred days of the Trump administration is over. During that time Trump managed to upend most citizens’ lives in one or more ways.
I’m not going into what he has done, rather I’m going to give a shout out to all the people who have appeared at rallies, protests, and demonstrations. With hundreds of thousands appearing daily at government facilities to express their displeasure at Trumps’ actions, all have demonstrated restraint and good citizenship. No businesses have been vandalized (except Tesla, but that’s another story), or looted. Arrests, if any, are inconsequential.
Hurray! to the American public for showing the world we can effect change without destroying our neighborhoods. I also commend the organizers for their efforts and unparalleled mobilization skills to channel our frustrations in positive and productive actions.
The websites and local groups that provided the ideas and information to send letters and call our representatives and senators deserve a thank you, too. Without their help and information many would not have taken up their pens in protest. Their efforts also made congress, SCOTUS, and POTUS abundantly aware of our positions.
A big Thank you to the United States of America citizenry for showing the world it is possible to effect change without causing trouble. We are following the advice of that most eminent Congressman John Lewis, God rest his soul.
It isn’t over, but it has been a great start. That people could come together, make some very creative signs, and remain civilized is commendable. Our anger is being felt without our need to break the law.
Keep up the good trouble America!
