Essex County has announced the appointment of Terry Johnson as its new Chief of Emergency Services.
Johnson most recently served as Fire Chief for the City of South Sioux, Nebraska, beginning in 2021.
Chief Johnson assumed his duties in Essex on April 10 and will be formally introduced to the Board of Supervisors and the community as a whole on, at the regular monthly board meeting on April 11.
“The Rappahannock River basin is a beautiful region of great opportunities,” Johnson said. “I wish to express my appreciation to have the privilege to be part of the Essex County Emergency Services team.”
He went on to say that providing the highest quality of service is his goal for the community.
