Convenience Store Burglary

Town Police Investigating

The Tappahannock Police Department is investigating a burglary at the Raceway Convenience Store in the early morning hours of February 1.

Officers responded to the store on Tappahannock Boulevard after an employee discovered damage to the windows and items missing, according to Police Department Captain J.H. Siddons. The investigation has revealed that an unknown male entered the store by breaking a window and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, Siddons said. A search of the area by officers, assisted by the King & Queen Sheriff’s Office K9 team was conducted but the suspect was not found, he noted.

“We believe that this is someone who has been the store before and is familiar with the surroundings,” Siddons said.
