The King and Queen County School Board recently held its reorganizational meeting.
Celestine Gaines was elected to remain as Chair with Harwood Hall continuing to serve as Vice-Chair.
This will be Gaines’s sixth consecutive year as Chair. She also served two other years as Chair, bringing her tenure in that role to eight years
Hall has served as Chair and Vice-Chair for a total of five years.
Gaines states, “I am honored and grateful that my fellow board members have faith and trust in me to serve another term as Chair… I serve under our Motto “One Team, One Mission!”.
Hall stated, “I am proud of our growth, progress, stability and honored to serve as the Board Vice Chair”.
Other positions voted in were: School Board Clerk- Monica Gonzalez; Deputy School Board Clerk – Anne Kennedy; Board representative for Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School – Celestine Gaines; Board representative for Maggie Walker Governor’s School – Harwood Hall; Board representative for Bridging Communities Regional Program – Daryl Oakley; Regional Middle Peninsula Special Education Program – Brenda Lee; and Discipline Committee – Celestine Gaines, Howard Hill and Harwood Hall.
