Through Truck Restrictions Proposed In King & Queen


The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), at the request of the King and Queen County Board of Supervisors, is considering a through truck restriction for several secondary routes in the county.

Signs notifying travelers that these routes are being considered for a through truck restriction have been installed. The signs will be removed after 30 days.

Through truck restrictions are proposed at the following locations:

• Route 632 (Hockley Neck Road) between Route 631 (Stevensville Road/Bunker Hill Road) and Route 633 (Mantua Road), which is a distance of 1.7 miles.

• Route 633 (Stones Road/ Mantua Road) between Route 629 (Walkerton Landing Road) and Route 14 (The Trail), which is a distance of 6.9 miles.

• Route 634 (Mt. Elba Road) between Route 629 (Walkerton Landing Road) and Route 633 (Stones Road), which is a distance of 1.3 miles.

• The alternate route for through trucks would be Route 14 and Walkerton Landing Road. The alternate route for the restricted sections of Hockley Neck Road and Mt. Elba Road would be 11.2 miles. The alternate route for the restricted section of Stones Road/Mantua Road is 5.1 miles.
