Travis Glen Taylor affectionately known as “Double T” joined his heavenly family on November 16, 2025. He was born on March 6, 1983.
Double T was an avid hunter and third generation leader of Taylor Hunt Club. He also loved farming. His input and decisions as part of the family’s century owned and designated, Holly Ridge Farm, reflected his respect for the land and appreciation of the gifts it provided each season. His other passion was racing. He was a recognized racing champion earning four straight titles of modified champion at Newtown Dragway and eight straight titles of Footbrake Champion at Colonial Beach Dragway.
Most important, Travis taught kindness, consideration, caring, compassion, and generosity by example every day by just being Double T, earning him respect and friendship from everyone. He loved his family more than words could ever express, which extended to his many friends and work family. His family also included his community through his service as a past member of the Walkerton Community Volunteer Fire Department.
He graduated from West Point High School in 2001 and Virginia Tech in 2006 with a Mechanical Engineering degree. While at Virginia Tech, Travis had the privilege of being a member of the Baja racing team. He was employed by Kaeser Compressors, Inc. for the past 12 years, in Fredericksburg. He traveled to Germany and throughout the US as the lead design Engineer for their special projects.
He is predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Richard Hugh Dix, and paternal grandparents, James Alton Taylor and Eva Lee Bryant Taylor.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Kelly Renee Fenton Taylor, daughter Abigail “Abby” Lynn Taylor, parents Bruce Glen Taylor & Robin Dix Taylor, brother and his wife, Adam & Leslie Taylor, nieces Hayden, Evalee, & Ellie Wayne Taylor, maternal grandmother, Peggy Ann Davis Dix, mother and father-in-law, Debbie and Don Fenton, brother-inlaw, Dan Fenton & Rachel, niece Sarah and nephews Jake and Bryce. Also surviving are Aunt and Uncle, Kathy and Tommy Smith, cousins Joe Smith, Sally Sanders and Ann Robbins. Uncles and Aunts Garry and Debbie Taylor, Wallace and Darlene Taylor. Cousins David Taylor, James Taylor and Daniel Taylor. “Grandparents” Conley and Liz Taylor and special friend, Ronnie Helmick.
A celebration of life was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Bruington Baptist Church, 4784 The Trail Bruington, VA 23023, with Reverends Ellen Gwathmey and Randy Orndorff officiating. The family received friends following the service at Holly Ridge, 2287 Rosemount Road, Walkerton.
