Raiders Rout Jackets

Rappahannock’s Kenneth Madison ran for a career-high 372 yards and matched a career high with 6 touchdowns as the Raiders crunched second seeded Northampton 55- 18 in a Region 1A football semifinal game contested Friday night in Eastville.

The Raiders’ C.J. Kelly added 113 ground yards and a pair of scores as Rappahannock advanced to the Region 1A title game against Essex.

“Our young men played well,” Rappahannock coach William West observed. “Our defense got some turnovers (three total) and offensively our line blocked well allowing C.J. and Kenneth to have phenomenal nights between the tackles.”

Rappahannock had 37 offensive snaps, 19 of which went for 10 or more yards.

Madison scored on carries of 1, 30, 57, 34, 1, and 15 yards.

Kelly’s rushing TDs came from 2 and 56 yards.

Rappahannock finished the night with 512 total yards.

Northampton got 105 yards rushing from Elijah Hope and 100 yards from Khaidn Davis.

Rappahannock led 7-0 after the first 12 minutes of action and 34- 18 at intermission.
