Art Show & Sale

528 Prime Steak and Seafood Restaurant in Tappahannock was host to an art show and sale last weekend featuring the works of the late Sidney E. King and Essex County resident Jim Thomas. The show featured more than 75 works of the two artists. Above, Thomas — a former student of King — poses with a painting of the reading of the Leedstown Resolutions at the 1710 Tavern (formerly Emerson’s Ordinary) in Tappahannock. Thomas created the scene as part of his project to produce 50 paintings related to Essex County’s history.
