Currently there are 90 artistic creations on loan at the Tappahannock Art Gallery. These works are the result of supportive, instructive and capable art teachers and a receptive set of students tasked to explore with art.

Six schools have provided the work and these include: Rappahannock High School (Richmond Co.), and Essex County, Light of the World Academy, Aylett Country Day School, J. H. Cary Intermediate School, Essex High School and St. Margaret’s School.

With pieces from students ranging from kindergarten through high school, there are 2D and 3D work on display. Some of the work is highly individualistic while other works are part of a class collaborative. You can compare and contrast how different students tackled a given assignment.

The opening reception was Sunday, May 5th and was very well attended by teachers, parents, students and TAG artists alike.

This show is only up for a short time. It runs through the 19th of May so if you’d like to catch a glimpse of these many different pieces, plan it now.

Tappahannock Art Gallery hours are: 12-4, Tuesday through Saturday, so mark down your planned visit.
